District Information50/100 Celebration 2006 marked the 100th anniversary of the Felta Schoolhouse, and the 50th anniversary of West Side Union School District and Elementary School. Situated on the “west side” of the Russian River, West Side Union School District was formed when five small, rural, one-room school districts–Daniels, Felta, Junction, Lafayette, and Mill Creek–unified to create the district. In the winter of 1956-57, the students attending these one-room schools were brought together under a common roof–West Side School. For the past 50 years, West Side School has developed a unique style of elementary education known for its academic excellence, innovative programs, and high degree of parental and community involvement. 100 Years of History, 50 Years of Service, was Celebrated at Felta Schoolhouse (1906) with a “Centennial” birthday honoring West Side School’s legacy of excellence. |
