Arts Update

A few announcements for the arts program:

1. The Young Artists show at Healdsburg Center for the Arts opens this Friday, March 15th, 4-6pm.  The show runs until April 6th. Our school has made a Photo Booth featuring a hand-drawn backdrop, fantastical hats, and other props like a gold banana car.  The project is inspired by the work of Malian artist, Seydou Keïta. https://www.danzigergallery.com/artists/seydou-keita?view=slider#8

2. Starting this Friday, Jenny Sargent will be back for a 6-week theater and movement workshop for K-3rd grades. So thrilled to get to have her back, thanks to a scholarship through LBC.

3.  Levi Miller will continue his workshops with 4th-6th through the end of this month.

4. In April and May we will paint murals! I will need parent help with adding a fresh layer of plywood to the ball walls mid-April, so will be reaching out for volunteers.

5.  I am leading a town-wide project for Earth Day where schools all help make a giant air-filled balloon out of discarded plastic bags. We will assemble the balloon in the HHS gym.  I will start working with our students for our contribution in early April.  This is a project with artist Tomas Saraceno, called Aerocene. https://www.danzigergallery.com/artists/seydou-keita?view=slider#8

6.  NBC will be airing their new segment on Peptoc likely March 18th and March 20th. I’m still waiting on final confirmation from them.
