Last week, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders celebrated Lunar New Year through art projects with Ms. Jessica. Fourth grade created a red horse painting for a 2026 Lunar New Year installation (the Year of the Fire Horse), inviting students and staff to share what they want to “gallop forward” this year—from world peace to reusable water bottles to more cheese.
Fifth and sixth graders explored Lunar New Year traditions and designed a 65-foot dragon puppet, which was proudly paraded around campus and into lower-grade classrooms. The dragon will live in the 6th grade classroom and return each year as part of our celebrations.
Special thanks to fourth grade parent, Helen, for inspiring this new West Side tradition!
