Where is the new garden?
Our Outdoor Classroom, located near the creek, is now the main home base of the West Side Garden Program. This space offers shade, creek access, wildlife observation and plenty of opportunities for outdoor learning. Improvements are already underway! Student-built garden boxes, a new fence and a worm bin have been added. More fruit trees, donated plants and garden beds are on the way. Carpentry students from Geyserville New Tech Academy are also building additional garden beds using donated and repurposed materials from our former garden.
The West Side Campus also offers many garden areas utilized for student projects
What is happening to the old garden space?
Due to the construction requirements of the new water tank, including underground pilings and rock, the former garden area is no longer suitable for planting. The Board and staff have determined that this area is no longer ideal to use as a garden and future uses for the space are being considered.
Looking Ahead
Our Garden Program continues in the Outdoor Classroom and throughout campus, where students will have plenty of opportunities to plant, explore and learn. We look forward to seeing our new garden space continue to grow!
