A Note from Felta Education Foundation

What a wonderful day for our West Side community! Thank you to every family who helped students collect pledges, supported their training, and cheered them on—and to all of our day-of volunteers who set up, brought fruit, cheered students on, and jumped in wherever needed.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our Jog-a-Thon sponsors, many of whom are West Side families themselves. Local businesses that invest in our kids make a huge difference, so please support those who support our Bobcats! [JOG-A-THON SPONSOR LINK]

Thank you to Coach Tiff for training our students, encouraging them to work toward their personal best, and teaching them about fitness and healthy living through PE and running. We also appreciate our teachers and staff for building excitement, supporting students, and helping the day run so smoothly.

Our goal was $30,000, and our Bobcats exceeded it, raising just over $32,400 net through pledges and sponsorships!

We know some families have asked about the $35,000 stretch goal and Slime Ms. Meechan incentive. It was intentionally set as an ambitious, above-and-beyond goal. We didn't quite get there this year, but perhaps it gives our Bobcats something to strive for next year!

We’re celebrating the big win: Dance Party & Ice Cream Sundae Social! The celebration for Bobcats is Tuesday, November 10, during lunch recess.

A Few More FEF Updates

See’s Candies: Need holiday gifts, host/hostess gifts, or treats? Our fundraiser is open through December 4! About 20% of sales comes back to FEF to support field trips and enrichment. An easy way to check something off your list while supporting West Side! [See’s Candies Fundraiser Link!]

Nalle Family Photo Day: Thank you to everyone who joined us for fall family photos on October 18! The goal was to gather our community, enjoy a beautiful space, and support local businesses—and we also raised about $500 for student enrichment! Thank you to Nalle Winery for hosting us, our photographer Lindsay Abott Photography, and all the families who came out.

Field Trip Funding: You may have noticed we haven't collected separate field trip fees this year. FEF is moving toward a more collective and equitable approach, reducing the pressure on individual grades and families to fundraise for their own trips. Watch for a letter soon with information about tax-deductible contributions, payment options, and financial assistance.

Bobcat Brews: Thank you to everyone who continues to make time for these community gatherings! We especially appreciate Ellen Lin and Jeff of Fermata Coffee in Geyserville for generously donating coffee and muffins for the Halloween Parade, and Dragonfly for the beautiful flowers. Your support helped make it such a wonderful morning of community and connection.

Join Us!

Our next FEF meeting is Thursday, November 12, from 8:20–9:30 a.m. We’ve moved it one day later because of no school for the Veterans Day holiday.  Come join us, or reach out anytime if you'd like to join the Board, volunteer, help with an event, or simply lend a hand when you can. Many hands make light work, and we’d love to have you!

With gratitude,
The Felta Education Foundation
