First Week: West Side understands that returning to school via distance learning is new and we are here to assist! Teachers will be taking time to "train" parents and students on accessing sites and answer questions regarding Distance Learning. Just a reminder that schedules are posted on our website under the Parent Tab, then select Distance Learning Schedules.

Principal Chat: Coffee and Conversation: West Side will continue with the tradition of hosting a monthly principal chat. Our first one will be about the start to the new year, distance learning, and how we can support families. Our first one will be held on August 27 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  The zoom information is

Meeting ID: 863 0509 3973

Passcode: 512153

Food Service:  Free and Reduced-Price lunch applications will be included with the materials and Chromebook you will pick up on Monday.  If you are interested, please complete the application and return to the office by September 18th.  Those who received a letter that they are pre-approved, do not need to submit an application. Any questions, please call Susanne Esquivel in the office at 433.4293 or email [email protected].

During Distance Learning, please note the following changes:

  • Meals are only available for those West Side students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunches.

  • Families must order each morning by 9:00 a.m. by calling the office.

  • Families are responsible for picking up lunches between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.on school days. Students do not need to be present.

It's a busy time of year, and we appreciate your patience as we navigate a new way of beginning the school year.

We hope you enjoy the weekend, and please contact us if you have any questions.

Warmly,

Mrs. Menlove
