Let's help orphaned squirrels!

The Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue center is in need of acorns for their orphaned squirrels. Collect your acorns and bring to school at the next packet pickup day on October 15. Miss Stefanie will deliver the acorns to the wildlife center. The Sonoma County Wildlife Center is the same organization that rescued the fallen baby squirrel found in the garden by TK a few years ago. Baby squirrels need to learn to crack their own nuts before they return to the wild. Western Gray Squirrels help plant new oak trees by hiding (caching) acorns in the ground for when food is scarce. Some of those acorns grow into new oak trees.
