COVID Protocols for Exposures

Sonoma County Department of Public Health Close Contact Protocols as of January 27, 2022:    
  • If student is VACCINATED: No quarantine for in-school or out-of-school exposure.  Monitor for symptoms, testing recommended.  
  • If student is UNVACCINATED: In-school unmasked exposure and all out-of-school exposure -- Standard Quarantine: five days at home in quarantine after exposure.  They can return on Day 6 with a negative test (ten days if no test).  
  • If student is UNVACCINATED:  In-school Masked exposure -- Modified Quarantine: they can come to school but must test at Day 5 or 6.  If not willing to take a test, must quarantine at home for ten days.  
Close Contact is defined by SCDPH as within 6' for a total of 15 minutes over the course of a day, or briefly through direct physical contact or sneezed/coughed upon or shared eating/drinking utensils with an infectious person.
