West Side Recognized by Russian River Watershed Association (RRWA)

The Russian River Watershed Association (RRWA) has awarded West Side with a beautiful Russian River-Friendly Landscaping (RRFL) identification sign to highlight West Side compliance with RRFL practices. In the application for this sign, West Side's eco-groovy practices, such as sustainable water usage, environmental benefits, drought-resistant landscaping, goat weed-eating, water catchment system, native garden, pollinator garden, and lawn removal were highlighted. West Side will be installing the sign near the picnic/study area. Also, RRWA will announce our location and photo on social media as well as share our location on their interactive map of organizations and properties using Russian River Friendly Landscaping.

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and the California Department of Education (CDE) are excited to announce that the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) application deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020.

Application Processing

Families that have already applied for P-EBT benefits who are still awaiting an eligibility determination do not need to apply again. CDSS will continue to review and process all applications received between May 22 and July 15 through the end of July to ensure that as many children as possible are verified for P-EBT eligibility and able to receive benefits. As of this week, P-EBT cards have been issued to over 3 million P-EBT eligible children across the state. The CDE continues to provide data to the CDSS for those children deemed eligible during the months of May or June.

School Board Candidate Information Forum | June 10, 4:00 pm

In advance of the November 3 school board elections, SCOE will host a free information session on Wednesday, June 10, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, for any community members interested in running for their local school boards. Attendees will learn firsthand what it is like to serve on a school board from a panel of current board members who span the county and possess a spectrum of insight, ranging from board members in their first term of service to seasoned veterans. In addition to the panel discussion, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions.
