Summary of September 21, 2021 Bobchat

Board Member Volunteer needed: Thank you to Ann Davis for her valuable service to West Side over the past 11 years.  She has been a wonderful member of our Board and has contributed so much time and support to our sweet school. Ann will be retiring in December and there will be an opening on our School Board.  If you live within the district and are interested, please complete this School Board Interest Form

Site Council Member Volunteers: Please visit our website to learn more about our Site Council.  Our first meeting has been changed to Wednesday, October 28th at 2:00-3:00pm.  Let us know if you’d like to be a parent representative by emailing Mrs. Meechan at [email protected]

AFTERCARE:  If you aren't using this service on a regular schedule or you're making a change to the schedule you told us, please be sure to communicate directly with our After Care Coordinators, Lacie Ramirez and Peggy Torres.  The best email to use for scheduling is [email protected].  Lacie is handling billing as well and can answer any ProCare questions.

If you're going to be late in picking up, please call the After Care direct line:  433.4541.

We appreciate your cooperation in utilizing After Care to accommodate your work schedules.  After school play dates should still be handled off campus as we don't have staffing for extras.  Thank you!

From Mrs. Meechan:
We’re getting closer to setting up the weekly COVID surveillance testing. You’ll receive a separate email in the next week or so asking for consent for your student to participate.  It’s optional and we will not test without your permission.

Remember that parent-teacher conferences are next week (dismissal time is 12:00/12:10).  I hope you’ve signed up for a meeting through the email you received last week.  These are such valuable conferences that offer you the perfect opportunity to support your student through teaming with their teacher!

Thank you Jessica Martin for bringing amazing performing arts to our students!  On Monday we had an outdoor assembly by a group that performed on marimbas (percussion instruments originated from Africa) and our students LOVED it.   Check out this video.  Ms. Jessica will be bringing more diverse art experiences to our students throughout the school year.

Important Information for ALL Families regarding Independent Study:  The maximum number of days for traditional independent study this year is 14.  This time has usually be used for family trips, but this year also includes days that students are quarantined.  As you can imagine, this has happened already and will continue to happen.  Please plan family trips during school holidays to avoid going over the limit.
