Hello parade-goers! Ms. Jessica here. I’m very excited about the parade—thank you for participating!
A few parade details:
1. Everyone is welcome to walk, bike, or scooter in the parade. Strollers/wagons work too.
2. I will be at school tomorrow and Wednesday during lunch and after school to help the kids decorate helmets and shirts. I can also send home decorating supplies.
3. If you prefer to decorate at home, you are welcome too. You can tape ribbon or streamers to helmets and bikes (make sure they aren’t too long and get caught in bike wheels!). For t-shirts, use markers, paint, or tape paper to t-shirts with simple inspirational Peptoc messages (just make sure to write very big to people can read your message). Sky is the limit! If you have an idea and want to make something out of cardboard and paint, go for it!
4. At the minimum: Everyone please wear colorful clothes.
5. I will have Peptoc cards to pass out to the crowd, so I will be asking for volunteers to help with that during the parade.
6. West Side is Unit #2 and Entry #207. Our line up position is on Tucker Street. You may not drive your vehicles into the assembly areas, so please plan on parking and walking in. Feel free to connect with other parents to coordinate assembling beforehand. The assembly areas are on Tucker, East, Hayden, and Mason west of University. The parade route is the same as usual, ending at the corner of University and Matheson, so we recommend parking east of University around there. The parade starts at 6:00. Please assemble on Tucker by 5:45.
